THE PROCESS

Our overwhelming concerns at Sandler & Lashaw Legal Search are integrity and confidentiality. We fully understand that seeking employment and/or changing employers can be a very stressful time for anyone. We are sensitive to the fact that a candidate’s worst fear is that somehow the implementation of a job search could get back to a present employer. We make every effort to make sure that confidentiality is never breached. Our organization will never send out a resume without express prior authorization.

We typically begin by receiving a phone call from an attorney who would like some career advice. Sometimes, tax and employee benefits attorneys are actively looking for a new job, but often they are just interested in picking our brains about the present state of the marketplace. With over twenty years of experience in the tax and employee benefits legal search communities, we can offer candid career advice that few others can.

If an attorney decides that he or she would like us to help in a job search, the first step is to get a full understanding about his or her goals. We are often asked to advise, but at this stage of the process we just listen.

Once we have an understanding of the specifics, we go to work. We diligently comb through our international data base, call contacts in the industry and make a precise list of appropriate opportunities. We then spend the time necessary to make sure that the candidate understands the pros and cons of each position. In addition to providing the standard information such as salary, benefits and job description, we offer inside knowledge that comes from having placed candidates into tax and employee benefits departments. Our professional contacts are our greatest asset. We have placed the leading attorneys in the tax and employee benefits communities.

Next, we narrow the list down to positions we believe are best for the candidate. With authorization, we present the candidate. Once an interview is scheduled, Sandler & Lashaw Legal Search consults with the attorney and does its best to help the candidate prepare. We highlight strengths and identify weaknesses. It is our desire that the process be as comfortable and informative as possible.

It is important that the candidate comes to an informed decision that feels right to him or her. It is our goal to make the best possible fit for both applicant and employer.
